I wanted to try something new and challenging. I have a few friends that are members of a local Crossfit gym and it peaked my interest. Well, I can truly say that there is no way that I could have done any or most of the Crossfit moves before doing several Beachbody programs. I have completed P90X, insanity, the asylum, Les Mills Pump and attended a live workout with Shaun T. Each one of these have their unique levels of difficulty. I am happy that I did p90X first because I was able to really understand how muscle confusion works and learn many basic moves. With all the variations that you can choose from its a program offering so much variety. Insanity is so much cardio which was really rough, like thought I might puke kind of tough. Persevere through and you can conquer it! The Aslyum, well that's a whole entire different story and extremely difficult and completely rewarding. I got the most results from The Asylum but it requires a different level of commitment and dedication. I am looking forward to volume 2, which I have not purchased yet. Les Mills Pump is really fun and challenging also. Without completing the Beachbody workouts, I don't think I would have even had enough confidence to show up for the first Crossfit workout (aka WOD) .
Now I am looking forward to Crossfit tomorrow. I usually go on Monday evenings. I feel fortunate that the "box" I joined is a cool group of people that are welcoming and really want to see each other succeed. I have a bunch of Salt Shaker friends that are starting too. Tomorrow will be wod # 7 for me. Wish me luck!!
