Looking back over the past month I have learned that it's not the greatest idea to start a paleo challenge during the month of December. Most of my friends either baled or didn't post anything at all. I am sure all of the holiday parties didn't help but I really learned a lot about the type of eater that I am. I am a stress eater! Never mind the parties, actually most of the holiday parties that I attended had several healthy choices and it was pretty easy to avoid the dessert table. I learned that when I am stressed I find comfort in eating, especially junk food. If I plan properly and bring plenty of healthy snacks I can usually talk myself off the ledge however, if I have an empty lunch bag I am definitely subject to house an entire sleeve of fig newtons! So, new year's resolution for me is to be better prepared so I don't get caught in a stressful situation and reach for a cookie or whatever. I am going to bring a bag of spinach with me instead. I know it sounds kinda funny but I don't really care. I totally drink enough water when I have it with me so that's my master plan... spinach.
